Sometimes its better to let an idea be an idea (instead of practicise...)

2 days ago one of my friends couldnt stop talking about glazed apples (as above) so we thought it would be a GREAT idea to make it ourself.. So 100 g sugar, 60 gr brown sugaer, syrup, butter and salt further we aknowledged that it was a horrible idea, it didnt tast too bad, but it just wasnt the real deal.. cant wait for the next carnival where you can just by them!!

Favorite Things

I've been such a bad blogger.. Im really making an effort to finish my internship report (well kinda at least..) and then the whole blogging thing just don't seem as important anymore.. BUT here are my new favorite things of the month March!!

Lipstick: Chanel Rouge Coco - Gabrielle (19)
Spotted gorgeous Jen Brill with it on like every picture made of her.. So i knew i have to give it a try.. AND I ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY LOVE IT

J's Bin 23 collection: All numbered Air Jordan models (I – XXIII) will be remade in exclusive and luxurious makeovers. First to see release will be the Air Jordan II Premio.

Paying tribute to the fine craftsmanship of the original AJ II, the kicks will be constructed from rich and supple brown leather with crocodile detailing. Each pair comes individually numbered in extremely limited quantities and will carry the Bin 23 seal in red.

Canon S90: like every dslr owner (i guess..) i find it not always as easy to transport.. therefor bought a new compact camera and TOTALLY adore is too.. makes amazeballs pictures and is easy in use!
Helena Rubinstein Deodorant Nudit: absolute favorite for many many years already (and many many years to come..) great smell (the deo not the sweat..)!

Guess that's about it for now, will post more regularly (ehh..)

Last Lecture

So as you might know, Im back in town.. First week of Dutch life was really good, no rain (yet), a lot of sunshine (but still with some freezing cold air), a lot of interviews (gotta work to get where I want), and ofcourse a lot of loved ones!

But you're not here to read about how cold it is (as you probably know for yourself..) you're here to read smt interesting..

During my 10 something hours flight back to NL, I had to switch airplanes in Kuala Lumpur. During this 3 hour break I started reading possibly one of the best books Ill ever read.. I wanted to cry even after just have read one page. It was the LAST LECTURE by Randy Pausch. You may have heard from him, his wife visited Oprah to tell his story..

Let me search for a summary:

“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”

--Randy Pausch

A lot of professors give talks titled “The Last Lecture.” Professors are asked to consider their demise and to ruminate on what matters most to them. And while they speak, audiences can’t help but mull the same question: What wisdom would we impart to the world if we knew it was our last chance? If we had to vanish tomorrow, what would we want as our legacy?

When Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn’t have to imagine it as his last, since he had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. But the lecture he gave—“Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”—wasn’t about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because “time is all you have…and you may find one day that you have less than you think”). It was a summation of everything Randy had come to believe. It was about living.

In this book, Randy Pausch has combined the humor, inspiration and intelligence that made his lecture such a phenomenon and given it an indelible form. It is a book that will be shared for generations to come.
So this book was a last gift Randy wrote for his children, to tell them more about himself (they were to young to have real significant memories about him), how he lived his life and his life advice. The actual story was in a lecture and I added it as a youtube, since I am at the university and we don't have sound here I haven't watch it either! I know it will be a tearweeper.. But this man, the know-it-all that he was, was such a out of the ordinairy man! I don't even know if I should write more about it are that you just should buy/rent the book and read it for yourself. It really will add some spiritual value to your life! About how to appreciate time, because it is limited.. About appreciating your loved ones, because they aren't immortal. About letting go the small stuff, because a dirty sock isnt worth a fight.. About your life, because you can always improve yourself and your environment!

The Big Adventure

Sittin here with only a couple of days left of "the big adventure" I feel bipolar! I am soo looking forward going back to my normal life: study, being with my loved ones, eating at Vapiano, just being around all my stuff (kinda fed up wearing the same shit for 6 months..), being able to wear different shoes, my own bed, don't have to worry about roaming with my bb, there's so much.. But really at the same time I know that I will feel fed up and bored of it al so fast!! I guess you need those moments too..

Being in a foreign country for longer then just a holidy does so much with a girl. You learn soooo insane much about your own capabilities (and perhaps stretch up your limitations), you'll learn so much about "the big scary world", you'll get to know new inspiring people, and mostly you'll learn it's oke to be on your own and enjoy your own company. There's nothing wrong with being alone for a bit!

In the last couple of months I have been to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand and every place I've been to showed me how beautifull this place we call earth is! Except for appreciate everything in my life more then I did (the struggle my parents must have been through for the promiss of a better future in the Netherlands, the wealth I know because there are alot of people way more poor then you even can imagine, the weather i LOVE for seasons) I know I'll walk away from this experience as a better human.

But I cant wait for a new adventure landing on my path! North-America perhaps? So what are your plans, which places do you want to visit? Or even deeper; what do you want out of life?
